Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care and daily support to persons with intellectual disabilities in both the day activity centre and hostel.
- Administer medication accurately and handle discharge medications according to doctor’s orders and safety protocols.
- Follow all residential home procedures and operational workflows, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Work on a rotating shift schedule including weekends, public holidays, evenings, and overnight shifts as required.
- When assigned to the long night shift, perform the role of a care worker in accordance with the Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities Ordinance.
- Maintain basic computer records including Chinese data entry and update client information as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all residents.
What You Need to Qualify
A Form 4 education level or above is required. You must hold a recognised Health Worker Certificate and a Residential Home for Persons with Disabilities Health Worker Certificate, and be a registered health worker. A First Aid Certificate and experience in rehabilitation residential homes are preferred. Basic computer application skills including Chinese input method are required. At least one year of experience as a health worker is mandatory. You must be willing to work in Tuen Mun Yip Wong Estate and be available for shift work including weekends, public holidays, evenings, and overnight shifts. A caring, patient, and responsible attitude is essential. Due to the Sexual Conviction Record Check mechanism, applicants may be required to undergo such checks.
Salary and Benefits
The monthly salary for this Health Worker position ranges from 23,000 to 28,000 Hong Kong dollars based on experience, which aligns with current market rates for registered health workers in residential care settings in Hong Kong. This long night shift position includes an additional night shift duty allowance of 1,200 Hong Kong dollars per month.
