Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and mobility, always respecting their privacy and dignity
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging residents in conversations and activities to promote mental and social well being
- Support rehabilitation and recreational activities such as exercise routines, arts and crafts, and games to help residents maintain physical function
- Help with meal preparation and feeding, monitoring food intake and reporting any changes in appetite to nursing staff
- Change bed linens, do light laundry, and maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition to the senior care staff, including any signs of illness or injury
- Work closely with nurses, therapists, and other care staff to follow individualised care plans for each resident
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. You need at least one year of caregiving experience, whether in a nursing home, hospital, or private home setting. Completion of a TESDA Caregiving NCII certificate is an advantage. You must be physically fit for lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. A genuine compassion for the elderly and a patient, kind disposition are essential. Good English communication skills are needed, and a willingness to learn Japanese is mandatory.
