Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties across the site as per the daily schedule and established standards, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitising
- Clean bathrooms, meal areas, and amenities to a high standard, restocking supplies such as soap and paper towels
- Operate cleaning equipment such as scrubbers and vacuum cleaners after receiving full on site training
- Respond promptly to urgent cleaning tasks that impact operations, such as spills or waste blockages
- Adhere to all City Health and Safety Think Safe policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Maintain cleaning chemicals and equipment by following safe handling procedures and cleaning tools after each use
- Report any safety hazards, equipment faults, or supply shortages to the supervisor immediately
Qualifications
A positive attitude and good communication skills are essential. Commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required because training is provided. A current driver’s licence and access to a car are desirable for commuting to the Redbank location. Australian working rights are mandatory. You must be comfortable working in cold environments such as cool rooms or freezer areas, as the warehouse includes temperature controlled zones. Physical fitness is required for standing, walking, bending, and lifting cleaning supplies up to ten kilograms. Reliability and punctuality are critical because the shift starts at 2 PM. Benefits and Perks
This casual position pays an hourly rate of AUD 30 to AUD 34 per hour depending on experience, which is the current market rate for a cleaner in Queensland. On top of this, you receive a 25 percent casual loading, bringing your effective hourly rate to approximately AUD 37.50 to AUD 42.50. Based on an eight hour afternoon shift from 2 PM to 10 PM, five days per week, your weekly earnings would range from AUD 1,500 to AUD 1,700, and monthly earnings from approximately AUD 6,000 to AUD 6,800. However, casual hours may vary. Uniform and personal protective equipment are provided free of charge.
