Key Responsibilities
- Remove and fit tyres on heavy commercial vehicles including trucks, vans, and trailers using manual and automated equipment
- Repair punctures and assess tyre damage to determine whether repair or replacement is the best course of action
- Balance wheels using static and electronic balancing equipment to ensure smooth vehicle operation
- Perform fleet service tasks such as checking tyre pressures, tread depths, and wheel nut torque on a scheduled basis
- Conduct basic preventative maintenance checks on fleet vehicles including fluid levels and visual inspections
- Maintain accurate service records and job cards for each vehicle serviced
- Keep the workshop and service vehicle clean and organised, following all health and safety procedures
Qualifications
You need at least one year of experience as a tyre fitter or in a similar automotive role. A New Zealand level 2 or 3 qualification is preferred, but relevant experience can substitute for formal education. A valid driver’s license is required, and a full clean license is preferred. You must be physically fit for lifting tyres, bending, and standing for long periods. Good communication skills in English are necessary for interacting with clients and team members. You must be able to work at least forty hours per week with occasional Saturday work. A willingness to undergo a pre employment drug test and medical check is required. Filipino citizens aged twenty to forty five years old with a valid passport are encouraged to apply.
Benefits and Perks
This full time position pays an hourly wage of NZD 27 to NZD 35 depending on your experience, which is the current market rate for a tyre fitter in New Zealand. With a guaranteed minimum of thirty five to forty hours per week, your monthly earnings will range from approximately NZD 3,800 to NZD 5,600.
