Key Responsibilities
- Supervise workers and projects on commercial construction sites, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Co ordinate and schedule daily activities for apprentices, trades helpers, and labourers to meet project deadlines.
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Prepare production and other reports for management, tracking progress and identifying issues.
- Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions as needed, including training or arranging for training.
- Estimate costs and materials required for each phase of the project, requisitioning or ordering supplies as necessary.
- Read blueprints and drawings to understand project specifications and communicate them to the crew.

What You Need to Qualify
A secondary school graduation certificate is required. You must have a First Aid Certificate and a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. A valid driver’s license and your own vehicle are necessary as this is an on the road job. One year to less than two years of experience in a supervisory role within construction is required.
