Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction blueprints, structural drawings, and work orders to determine the correct dimensions, placement, and assembly methods for wooden frames and roofing
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble lumber using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and saws, as well as power tools including circular saws, planers, and nail guns
- Construct and erect wooden frameworks for residential buildings, including floor joists, wall studs, roof trusses, and staircases, following Japanese building codes for seismic resistance
- Install doors, windows, cabinets, and other wooden fixtures with precise measurements to ensure proper fit and operation
- Prepare concrete forms, mix and pour concrete for foundations, and assist with other foundational tasks as needed
- Inspect completed work for structural integrity, alignment, and compliance with specifications, making adjustments or repairs as necessary
- Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and safety harnesses when working at heights
Qualifications
