Key Responsibilities

  1. Interpret weld procedure specifications to determine the necessary consumables and variables for each welding process.
  2. Perform GMAW MIG welding to a high standard, with additional skills in GTAW TIG, flux core, or SMAW stick welding being advantageous.
  3. Operate and maintain measuring tools, power tools, hand tools, and welding machines required to produce fabricated parts.
  4. Work on stainless steel components when required, applying appropriate techniques and consumables.
  5. Read and interpret welding procedure specification documents accurately before starting each job.
  6. Maintain high quality standards on every weld, inspecting finished work for defects or inconsistencies.

What You Need to Qualify

A Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade as a welder or an equivalent qualification is required. You must have adequate welding skills to pass a welder qualification test. Experience with stainless steel is also advantageous. Ability to read and interpret weld procedure specifications is mandatory. You must be skilled in operating equipment used in fabrication.
