Key Responsibilities
- Perform high quality GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding and fabrication across various carbon steels and stainless steel materials.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to complete projects accurately to specifications.
- Ensure welding equipment is well maintained and in safe working condition, performing routine checks and reporting issues.
- Maintain a high standard of work, ensuring finished products meet quality and safety standards and various welding codes.
- Work closely with team members across operations and machining to complete projects efficiently and on time.
- Follow workplace safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team at all times.
- Turn blueprints and drawings into high quality carbon steel products that meet rigorous standards.
What You Need to Qualify
A minimum of five years of welding and fabrication experience is required. Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding is essential. A weld test will be required as part of the hiring process. Strong knowledge of metal properties, fabrication techniques, and blueprint reading is necessary. Ability to work independently and within a small team is expected. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality are mandatory. A valid trade qualification in welding or fabrication is advantageous. A forklift license or additional certifications are desirable. You must be either an Australian citizen or a holder of an Australian permanent residency visa to be eligible. Physical fitness for standing, bending, lifting, and working with metal components is required.
