Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and pick up supplies, equipment, lab specimens, mail, data reports, and other items on a daily route across Dallas and surrounding communities.
- Operate specific MHS vehicles requiring a Class B CDL, following all traffic laws and safety measures.
- Obtain proof of delivery signatures from recipients, ensuring accurate documentation of each delivery.
- Handle stressful situations and make decisions in a timely manner while maintaining professionalism.
- Problem solve and work with fellow team members to resolve routing or delivery issues as they arise.
- Demonstrate good customer service skills in every interaction with hospital staff, clinics, and external partners.
- Maintain a good driving record and ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and ready for daily routes.
- Willingly cross train and learn other roles in the department as needed, supporting overall operations.
What You Need to Qualify
A high school diploma or GED is required. You must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and a Commercial Driver’s License CDL. Five years of commercial experience including driving a company vehicle is required. You must have a good driving record and familiarity with the City of Dallas and surrounding communities. Ability to handle stressful situations and make timely decisions is essential. Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work with team members are necessary. Professional and effective communication both orally and in writing is required. Demonstrated initiative and being a self starter are critical. Knowledgeable about and follows safety measures. Strong leadership ability is preferred. You must be willing to cross train and learn other roles.
Pay Rate and Benefits
