Key Responsibilities
- Deliver standard and emergent orders to designated locations and shipping areas within the facility and to nearby shops.
- Pick up production parts for receiving in a milk run fashion, ensuring all parts are accounted for and handled carefully.
- Properly secure loads and protect parts from damage during transit, using straps, blocks, or other equipment as needed.
- Pick up empty kit boxes from various locations and return them to the appropriate staging area.
- Load trailers for next day deliveries, arranging freight to maximize space and stability.
- Maintain 5S staging areas, keeping workspaces clean, organised, and safe for all employees.
- Transport employees between the warehouse and shops when required, providing courteous service.
- Operate appropriate equipment such as yard trucks or hostlers to perform loading and delivery processes.
- Notify the Lead or Supervisor of any problems encountered during operations, including mechanical issues or safety hazards.
- Use electronic equipment such as handheld scanners to provide proof of delivery and order replenishment stock updates.
What You Need to Qualify
A valid driver’s license is required. Previous yard driving or shuttle driving experience is preferred but not mandatory as training may be provided. You must be able to work Monday through Friday from 1pm to 9.30pm. Physical ability to get in and out of vehicles frequently, secure loads, and stand or walk for periods is necessary. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures are essential. Basic computer and electronic device skills are needed for proof of delivery scanning. You must be authorized to work in the United States. A clean driving record is preferred. High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
Pay Rate and Benefits
The base hourly pay rate is 23.86 US dollars per hour. An additional 0.75 cents per hour shift differential is added for working the second shift, making the effective rate 24.61 dollars per hour. This is a full time position with a consistent Monday to Friday schedule from 1pm to 9.30pm.
