Key Responsibilities

  1. Operate the shuttle vehicle safely on each trip, following all applicable laws and company policies.
  2. Account for records involving trailer numbers and position of vehicles, maintaining accurate logs.
  3. Communicate using cellular telephone or two way radio with operations and warehouse personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
  4. Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and placing safety wheel chocks.
  5. Use airline and electrical hookups correctly and follow proper backing procedures.
  6. Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily, reporting any issues.
  7. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and yard, and work overtime as dictated by business.

What You Need to Qualify

A high school diploma or general education degree GED is required. You must have tractor trailer experience and a clean driving record. Satisfactory completion of a Commercial Driver’s License CDL for tractor trailer operation is mandatory. Basic computer skills and basic math skills are needed. English reading, writing, and verbal communication are required. You must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months, ranging from mild to moderate. Physical demands include occasional bending, frequent walking and standing, constant sitting, ability to lift and carry 11 to 20 pounds, and reaching above shoulder, squatting, or kneeling. You must be able to work as assigned outside and in a warehouse environment, read manufacturer instructions, accomplish tasks timely, work independently or within a group, and adapt to change in a fast paced environment.
