Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on packaging and conveying equipment, including vehicles, chassis, forklifts, and industrial facilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system faults using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge
- Identify technical issues through inspections and tests, analyzing and diagnosing malfunctions to determine the best repair approach
- Use various tools and equipment for diagnosis and repair, order and replace parts, and work closely with suppliers when needed
- Maintain accurate repair records and parts inventory, communicating findings and repair options to the supervisor
- Attend to breakdowns promptly, reduce equipment downtime, and enhance performance through quality maintenance practices
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, maintain workplace housekeeping, and follow safe work procedures at all times
Qualifications
A Diploma, NITEC, NTC 2, or ITC in Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering is preferred. You need equipment knowledge of bagging, packaging, or conveyor systems. General knowledge of ac drives and electrical motors, pneumatic cylinders, and roller or chain conveyors is essential. Knowledge of PLCs, control circuits, and electrical systems is required. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the heavy industry sector is mandatory. You must be prepared to work on a twelve hour rotating shift pattern: two day shifts followed by two night shifts, then four days off. Experience in a bagging line would be an advantage. Good communication skills in English are necessary for reporting and coordinating. Singaporean citizens, permanent residents, and valid work pass holders are welcome to apply.
Benefits and Perks
This full time permanent position offers a monthly salary between SGD 2,100 and SGD 3,000, depending on your experience and technical skills. In addition to the basic salary, you receive shift allowances, transport allowances, and overtime pay. You also get an annual wage supplement, often called the thirteenth month bonus, plus a performance bonus based on company results. The company provides transportation to and from Jurong Island, saving you commuting costs. You work only four days per week on a rotating shift schedule, giving you three or four days off each week.
