Key Responsibilities
- Perform concrete repair tasks including breaking out damaged concrete, preparing surfaces, and applying repair mortars according to specifications
- Carry out surface preparation using tools such as scabblers, grinders, and shot blasting equipment to ensure proper adhesion of coatings
- Apply protective coatings, sealers, and waterproofing membranes to concrete surfaces to extend their service life
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely, maintaining them in good working condition and reporting any defects
- Work at heights and in confined spaces when required, following all safety procedures and using appropriate fall arrest equipment
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, disposing of waste materials properly and following site housekeeping standards
- Follow all health and safety protocols, wearing required personal protective equipment at all times
Qualifications
You need at least one year of experience in a construction, labouring, or trade assistant role. Experience in concrete repair, remedial works, or waterproofing is an advantage but not required, as full training will be provided. You must be physically fit for lifting, bending, kneeling, and working at heights. A valid driver’s license is preferred. Good English communication skills are needed for understanding instructions and working in a team. You must be reliable, punctual, and committed to safety. Filipino citizens aged twenty to forty five years old with a valid passport are encouraged to apply. A willingness to undergo a pre employment drug test is required. Trade qualifications are not mandatory but are an advantage.
Benefits and Perks
This full time position pays an hourly wage of NZD 25 to NZD 30 depending on your experience, which is the current market rate for a remedial worker in New Zealand. Based on a standard work week of forty hours, your monthly earnings will range from approximately NZD 4,300 to NZD 5,200.
